3 Reasons Adults Have More Fun at Disneyland
I think there are two types of people: those who really love Disneyland, and those that don’t. For those that don’t, I like to think that it’s because they haven’t been there, or have only been there with young children. I know that there is sort of a cult for those of us that are diehard fans, but I also think it’s fair to say that if enough people tried it out, they’d want to join our cult.
The following is a list of three reasons I think going to Disneyland as an adult is the absolute best. And I don’t mean as a parent, I mean just you and your significant others or friends.
You Get to Be a Kid
First and foremost, you get to be a kid again at the Disneyland Resort. When you enter the park and walk down Main Street a special feeling just washes over, and it leaves you feeling giddy for the rest of the day. Being in the park blocks out the real world, allowing you to let loose and let your inner child emerge.
Every single ride from Dumbo to Space Mountain leaves you with a rush, leaves you full of laughter, and makes you feel young.
Although we don’t spend too much time tracking the characters down, when you do see them, they always make you laugh and smile and bring back the memories of your favorite childhood movies.
There Are Some Great Bars
In California Adventure and Downtown Disney there are a number of awesome places to sit down and have a drink. The following our three of our favorite places to relax and have a drink:
If you haven’t stopped into the Cove Bar, you totally should. The views of Paradise Pier are perfect and they have some really fun drinks on their secret menu. Their menu is filled with lots of great shareable appetizers. They recently expanded the bar making room for more patrons.
The Hearthstone Lounge in the Grand Californian has some amazing woodwork and drinks. Relaxing by the cozy fireplace of this lodge-style lobby lounge is the perfect way to end the day at the parks. The servers even wear tradeable pins!
We’ve only been to Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar in the Disneyland Hotel once, but it definitely provided the full Disney experience. The small bar immerses you in an exotic feel, and the drinks all come in the most fun cups. This tropical oasis filled with colorful cocktails is a great place to stop by to relax.
There’s Magic in the Air
When you are at Disneyland, there truly is this magic feeling that lingers in the air. There are smiles everywhere, laughter, and happy music never stops playing. The magic transforms into romance if you are at the park with someone special. When I go to the park with Dylan, I feel like it’s just us on one long, perfect date. Adding in special dinners, fireworks, and nighttime parades creates the perfect magical night.
These are just some of the reasons that I continuously make my way back to Disneyland. What are the top reasons you enjoy going to Disneyland without kids, or even with them? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
