Reno Holiday Gift Guide

Updated: Feb 16, 2019

This year for presents, I need to buy for 12 people, two White Elephant parties and one Secret Santa. When trying to figure out what I was going to buy, I remembered this adorable Reno boutique I stumbled upon a few months ago. But that made me remember all the other adorable boutiques that have opened up Downtown and throughout Midtown in the past year or so.

This got me to thinking, why would I go buy a present anyone, anywhere can get at the mall, when I can buy unique gifts right here in town and support local businesses? The following list is my Reno Gift Guide. These are all products and stores that are only found here in town that I highly recommend! You’ll be the star gift-giver of the holidays with any of these!

Comfy Clothes from Hello Yoga

Be a true friend by buying the lady in your life comfy clothes from Hello Yoga! Hello Yoga specializes in athletic apparel for Yoga and Pilates or everyday wear. And lucky for you, their clearance is an additional 10% to 40% off on Friday and Saturday. And their section for clearance is huge, check out the picture below to see!

They also have a number of items that are perfect stocking stuffers or White Elephant gifts that are actually from Etsy! Hello Yoga is a proud Etsy supporter and has a number of unique items from the site, including these awesome earrings made from metal shavings ($30). Hello Yoga's Instagram and Facebook.

Nevada Stamped Gear from Larkellen

If any of your friends are as passionate about being a Nevadan as I am, you need to be buying presents at Larkellen. Larkellen is this adorable boutique store off Plumb. Owner Mimi works with local vendors and is proud that 90% of her products are made in the USA. Larkellen is basically like a knickknack store to me. They have a little bit of everything: jewelry, clothes, home décor and artisan treats. The best part is most of it is all handcrafted by artists that are passionate about the Nevada area.

Some of my favorite items include their metal Nevada shaped Christmas ornaments ($12), Nevada pouches ($22), and giant Nevada home signs ($150).

Holiday Ornaments and Décor from The Nest

The Nest is one of the coolest antique stores in town. The owner Tessa is passionate about finding quality items for her customers. Tessa is most excited about her collection of Santa mugs available for sale right now. An older woman who had been collecting mugs since the 1950s donated her entire collection to the store, every mug has the date and location purchased written on the bottom. There are so many different kinds and mugs from all over the world, even cute Santas from Paris! The Nest also has a number of antique ornaments dating from the 1940s, starting at $3.99.

The Nest is also promoting a number of different artists and vendors all month long. Every Saturday through Christmas local vendors will be at The Nest selling their products.

Gift Baskets from Pantry Products

Reno’s very own apothecary shop is in the Basement! Pantry Products offer everything from lotion and soaps, to bath salts and teas, and even pet products! The store is worth the visit for the smell alone! It smells so amazing in there because they make all products in house!

For the holiday season they have a giant basket filled with a mixture of their products ($100), a Hostess Trio of hand wash, hand lotion and room spray ($45), and these adorable Soul Soother Bath Tea Ornaments ($10). Their holiday flavors include Peace & Joy, Citrus & Spice and Peppermint & Frankincense. Also on Saturday they are having a raffle! Receive a ticket with ever $50 spent and win a tote! They are also offering free shipping for purchases over $100.

A Swimsuit from Strange Bikinis

If you want to buy one of your friends the most unique present you can think of, you should definitely opt for a Strange Bikini. Owner and designer Ali, has been hand-making her swimsuits since 2013 for women of all body types. Her success has brought her some pretty exciting news for 2017. Strange Bikinis is having the biggest promotion in their history this weekend with 20% off the entire website. Also, when you spend $120 or more, you receive a pair of black bottoms free!
