Escape to Hawthorne, NV – Thanksgiving 2014
Updated: Feb 16, 2019
This year is the first year we get to take our new puppy, Bruce, down to Hawthorne, NV with us for Thanksgiving! This will be his first big road trip and first time staying in a hotel! We are excited to introduce him to the family and also to see everyone again for the holiday!
We headed down Wednesday evening after class. Like last year, we will be staying at one of the only motels in Hawthrone, the El Capitan, or the El Cap as Dylan’s family calls it. I wouldn’t say it’s the fanciest place I’ve ever stayed, or anywhere close to it, but, it’s about a minute drive from Dylan’s grandma’s house, so I won’t complain!
The weather was great over the weekend, so we were able to spend a lot of time outside with Bruce. Dylan’s Uncle brought his two dogs to play too, so Bruce had plenty of fun with them. Well, in all honesty, he had plenty of fun with everyone.
We don’t think we have ever seen him so tired!!
Every year Dylan's whole family takes their family portraits on his Grandma Sherry's lawn. I'm pleased every year that we actually get a good photo together, and adding Bruce into this year's portrait is perfect. I mean, just look at us!
This trip was a quick one, we headed back early Friday afternoon. I was even home early enough to make it out for Black Friday deals! Not that I needed to, but that's okay.
We are quite pleased with how well Bruce did getting there and back, staying in his kennel in a strange place, and not destroying the motel room!
I hope everyone else had a fantastic Thanksgiving Weekend!
