Winter Weekend in South Lake Tahoe
Updated: Feb 16, 2019
I was lucky enough to win a weekend stay at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe in Stateline, NV! Not only that, I won us a suite! A beautiful corner room that is basically the size of our apartment and had views of the lake and the mountain.
We kept it pretty calm during our weekend. Mainly just hung out in our pretty room, ate at great restaurants and we even went to the magic show that was playing at Harrah’s.
I didn’t actually take my camera on this weekend getaway. Just wanted a relaxing weekend with Dylan. I do have some photos that I shot on my phone that I want to share with you, so here we go!
Harrah’s Lake Tahoe Hotel Suite
Our room was really nice. It was basically a two bedroom suite with an amazing big bathroom (did you see the tub above?), lots of room to sit, and a very comfy large bed.
The room was on the corner of the building, with views of both Lake Tahoe and the mountains.
We ordered in room service our last night, which was wonderful! I mean, look at that amazing waffle with the Harrah’s logo?
Harrah’s Lake Tahoe Steakhouse
Friday’s Station Steak & Seafood Grill is the steakhouse inside Harrah’s Lake Tahoe. It’s located on the top floor of the hotel tower, and overlooks Lake Tahoe. This fine dining spot was more fancy than we expected – as I came in undone and Dylan was rocking a beanie and a hoodie.
We of course got steak. Our favorite food. Didn’t mess with the seafood menu. But let me tell ya, it’s great! And they even gave us a cute little cupcake, we aren’t sure what they were congratulating us for, but. That’s ok.
Heavenly Village and Fire and Ice
On Saturday we just sort of wandered around. It was pretty chilly, but we didn’t mind. We spotted Fire and Ice, and knew that’s where we would be going to dinner.
Don’t get me wrong, the steakhouse was amazing, but this was equally good, just totally different. Fire and Ice is a Mongolian grill. You pick raw meats from a cold bar, place it all in a bowl, then chefs cook it with sauces and bases that you pick out. Bases included rice, noodles, and veggies.
It was definitely delicious and we had an amazing time picking out foods and sauces.
It’s funny how we always forget about South Lake Tahoe. Even though it’s just a quick hour drive out of Reno, we rarely make it down there. South Lake Tahoe has so much to offer during the winter and summer, and I hope we take advantage of how close we are this year!
